Sewing supplies can include many elements that all work together to create a finished product. Supplies can include fabric, notions, bobbins, needles, sewing scissors and more. If you’re trying to sew a dress without these sewing supplies, chances are you won’t get far.
Sewing supplies can always be found at the fabric store and usually where any sewing machines are sold. When working from a pattern, notions will always be indicated next to the fabric requirements. If something is called for that doesn’t look familiar ask a sales person.
Other sewing supplies, such as the machine itself and bobbins are usually purchased together with the machine. A sharp pair of sewing scissors and rolling cutter and cutting mat is also essential to success. As far as choosing the best supplies and machinery, there’s really no substitute for personal experience but online reviews or advice from an instructor can point you in the right direction.
